An IS accredited guide to help parents and teachers support a pupil affected by symptomatic-hypermobility arising from one of the Heritable Disorders of Connective Tissue (including Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (Joint Hypermobility syndrome, Hypermobility syndrome, BJHS), Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (all sub types), Marfan syndrome, Osteogenesis Imperfecta, PXE and Stickler syndrome.
Many teachers and schools have contacted the Hypermobility Syndromes Association with questions about the hypermobility syndromes (also known as Heritable Disorders of Connective Tissue (HDCT's) Questions range from basic concerns for the safety of the student, to questions about accommodations that meet the needs of the students. This booklet has been prepared to answer some of the questions most commonly asked by school personnel.
